Sounds International - Kampala, Uganda

The Way that we think ...

Picture
At Sounds International we believe in the integrity of the SONG first and foremost not what particular style it is (Hip Hop, Reggae, R & B, Gospel, Rock, Dance Hall etc.). The majority of 'hit' and classic recordings do not fit neatly into a narrow-minded category but play to memorability of the melody and the contents of the lyrics. In essence our approach to production is gleaned from many years of experience in over 15 countries where originality is the key. The old motto 'be a leader not a follower' springs to mind.

If one is honest you can see a commercial cycle in trends but the most successful songs are those that are more idiosyncratic and 'outside the box' of the mainstream. It is much harder to produce a really original and a classic song / album than just copying your favourite stars! We encourage our clients to take chances and be brave with their song-writing formats and approach. In this way multiple radio plays are far more guaranteed.

At the heart of the international music industry are two copyrights which we will help you to protect. First the actual physical 'Sound Recording' copyright which exists for 50 years after the owner dies and the 'Music and Lyrics' copyright which exists for 70 years after you leave this earthly state. Therefore we shall supply you with free membership application forms for the Ugandan Performing Right Society (UPRS) which is affiliated with the London Performing Rights Society (PRS) and the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (MCPS) in London, UK and hence all the other international royalty collection organisations.

At the end of the day, the more successful you and your music is the better it is for Sounds International.
